We want you make your building project a positive experience for you with results you will be happy with for years to come. If you have questions that are not answered here, please do not hesitate to contact us and we will answer them for you.

Q. How much does it cost to get an estimate?
A. Estimates are free! Please call or email us your interests.

Q. When are you available to do estimates?
A. We prefer to do estimates on Tuesday, Wednesdays, and Thursdays after 5pm. However, in some cases, exceptions can be made. Please call us if your schedule requires an estimate at other times than noted and we will do our best to schedule a time convenient for you.

Q. When is your office open?
A. Typically, our office is open from 9am. To 5pm Monday through Friday excluding major holidays. However, in certain situations, exception may be made.

Q. In which counties do you work?
A. Dickerson's Construction and Remodeling Inc. provides work of the highest standard to Winchester City, Frederick County, Clarke County, Warren County, and surrounding areas in the State of Virginia.

Q. In what forms do you take payment?
A. We accept checks, cashiers checks, and money orders. If you have any other method of payment, please feel free to call us and we will discuss other options with you.

Q. Do you provide plans or do we provide them?
A. We can provide plans for you or you can have your plans made elsewhere. Plans must comply to all building code requirements in the area where you are building.

Q. Can I have DCR use materials I already have for the job?
A. This depends on the integrity of the materials that are to be used or reused. If the crew feels the materials will not function properly or safely, new materials may need to be purchased. However, generally your materials can be used.

Q. How much will it cost?
A. Costs of projects will vary depending on materials chosen by the customer, and time needed to complete the job. In order to quote an accurate price, we will set up a time and date to come out to your home and discuss the project in detail.

Q. What is the general Procedure?
A. After contacting us through our website, email, or by phone, an estimate will be scheduled at your convenience. Once a representative from Dickerson's Construction and Remodeling Inc. (DCR) has met with you at the job location to discuss your needs, an estimate will be compiled along with any drawing required to complete the job. We will then contact you with the quoted price. If you are in agreement with the price, a contract will be drawn up and sent to you. Once both the customer and Dickerson's Construction and Remodeling Inc. have signed the contract, work will begin at a pre-determined approximate start date. Throughout the process, we will be in contact with you on a regular basis informing you of our progress and also regarding payment (as set up per your contract).

Q. What comes next once the contract has been signed?
A. We will be in contact with you about the exact date the crew will arrive at your home to begin working. We also like to request a key to the home or job location. This ensures the crew will be able to start work promptly when they arrive at the job sight, even if the customer is not able to be present. This also provides the flexibility which is needed to efficiently complete your project.

Q. Can I get out of the contract after I sign it?
A. A contract is a legally binding document. Under normal circumstances, contracts must be honored. However, in certain situations, exceptions can be made. If a withdraw of contract is desired, a Release of Contract must be approved and signed by all involved parties.

Q. What do I need to do to prepare the workspace prior to the arrival of the crew?
A. The work area should be cleared. This is to make sure your personal items are kept safe and are not damaged during the construction process, as well as ensuring the safety of our crew. Should you have large items or questions on what should be moved, we will be happy to help.

Q. What can I expect while DCR is undergoing work in my home?
A. DCR will be as courteous as possible while working in your home. We realize that this is your home and will do all possible to respect that while we are working. Dust and other debris may settle around your home. The crew will do their best to clean up after the days work is completed and will perform another cleanup of materials and debris once the job is completed. Power tools may be used on the job; therefore, there may be noise at times. However, we will try to respect the homeowner as much as possible.

Q. How long will you be in my home?
A. Durations will vary depending upon the job to be completed. However, we will keep in close communication as to scheduling work days and will work as efficiently as possible to ensure speedy results.

Q. Do I need to be there when the crew is working?
A. No, a number where we can reach you is sufficient. We will request a key or a form of access to the area where the work is to be done. We are licensed and insured and a family owned and operated business. You can feel safe with us. However, if you would like to or need to be at home while we work, by all means, we are happy to have you there. We understand that it is your home, please feel free to go about your daily business.

Q. How will I know when my next payment is due?
A. The payment schedule will be explained in detail in the contract. However, a representative from our office will call you to remind you of these dates.

Q. How do I know that I will get the result I envision?
A. DCR will discuss with you at the time of your estimate in detail about what you want to accomplish. We work closely with our customers during the process to assure satisfactory results. We work closely with designers and will draw plans to better portray what will be constructed. If during the construction process, you decide changes need to be made, we will work closely with you to complete the job to your satisfaction. However, a new contract or addendum to the existing contract may need to be drawn. Any changes altering the costs of the project will be amended accordingly.
